I Like This

It’s been far too long since my last blog. Turns out I’ve been pretty busy lately and it’s mostly all the GOOD kind of busy. For a long time I’ve been the kind of person that just wants to keep to myself and do my own thing but I feel like I’m finally getting more comfortable out in the world! Since my last post a lot has gone down.. I’ll try to do a quick recap.

  • It’s finally OFFICIALLY fall. (Isn’t it funny I posted so much about Fall before it even got here and now that it’s here I disappear from the blogosphere?)
  • Went to my Church’s Volunteer Tailgate Party and HAD. A. BLAST even in the RAIN!
  • Designed another postcard for my Church which always makes me feel so fulfilled and helpful!
  • My face paint!

  • Went to Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Williamsburg TWICE and had a BLAST both times despite laughing until near suffocation numerous times.
  • Had the opportunity to volunteer for a special event at my Church and it was an AMAZING experience. I had no idea what I was even going to be helping with when I decided to help but I am SO happy I did it. I played a role in helping a number of people out of 399 that spontaneously got Baptized over two Sundays at my church. I had chills practically the entire time. Such a powerful moment and so glad I could help out people who made that decision!
  • Made some really cute (and tasty!) Halloween treats for my Community Group snack!
  • My baby niece, Alysa, turned ONE YEAR OLD on October 17th! That miracle child is such a blessing and I love her so much!
  • I have suddenly become obsessed with K-Pop thanks to my little sister and have also started (barely) learning Korean as a result.
  • Joined a penpal website and now have some new snail mail penpals and I am also starting new friendships with people around the world.
  • I have taken on the responsibility of helping one such friend through a really rough time. Not really sure how much help I am, but I feel good for trying and also for using it as an opportunity to talk about Jesus and link them to some videos of my Church’s past services.
  • I’ve nearly hit the 70 pounds lost milestone in my weight loss (Less than 2 pounds away!).
  • Here are two pictures of me with my sisters after we got our faces painted at Howl-O-Scream!

So there you have it! I also have a lot coming up too. Not only are the holidays right around the corner, but I’m going to a Pumpkin Carving Party next weekend and just really excited about the future. I don’t really know where this change in me has come from but I’m really enjoying being more social and having more fun! Hope you all are having an awesome Fall so far!

    Random Nerdiness

This week went by fast just as I was hoping. Only a few more days of these pesky stitches and let me tell you, my skin is so ready to be rid of them and the adhesive from all the bandaids. I had typed up most of this post yesterday but didn’t finish and forgot all about it once I got home from work. Such is the life of someone with attention problems! So here are more random thoughts, things going on in my life right now:

  • In last week’s random thoughts I mentioned how I really wanted to try out Google+. Lucky for me Shannon stumbled upon my blog and gave me a ninja hookup! I have to say, while it still needs a little tweaking, I’m quite pleased with it! In all the ways Facebook is inconvenient, Google+ is convenient! I especially love the Android App and how it ACTUALLY WORKS! Also the feature that as soon as I take pictures on my phone they’re automatically uploaded to Google+ for future sharing purposes is really handy.
  • My dermatologists’ office called me on Tuesday and told me that the the mole they removed and tested was benign! Praise the Lord! I was pretty confident it wasn’t a problem since I’m not the tanning type but still, you never really know so it’s a huge relief either way!
  • Since before Christmas I’ve occasionally been called on to make some graphics for my church. Nothing major just small stuff. It feels really good to use my skills in a way that helps the mission of the church! In all I’ve helped with 4 different projects and I was just asked to try my hand at another. I came up with something I thought looked good but we’ll see if I delivered the magic that was expected of me!
  • And to close this week’s edition of randomness, I have decided to speak of my nerdiness. I’ve been playing World of Warcraft a bit lately. I only play casually when I do play. I like hunting achievements and collecting pets, mounts and fun objects. I would run heroics if i had decent people to run them with (randoms are just total headaches and 95% of them are rude people) and I don’t have time for Raiding. The problem with that is there are really spiffy mounts that I’ll never get my hands on. So when there are rare spawns that drop awesome mounts like the Phosphorescent Stone Drake, I’m all for it. I’m pretty impatient so camping doesn’t last long for me. Regardless, I’ve been camping it for a couple weeks now.

I nearly had a heart attack last night because my NPCScan addon started flipping out and in a panic I start looking around for the dragon only to see it zoom past with a cursed alliance character riding on it/attacking it. Such a bummer! So close and yet so far away. So I’ll just continue running it in the background and hope a bit of luck comes my way!

I hope everyone out there is having a Fabulous Friday! Are you doing anything exciting this weekend?

    Randomness

I’ve been itching to blog but I really didn’t have anything profound to share except a few random thoughts, ideas and a couple things going down in my life lately so I figured I’d just do a quick RANDOM post.

  • Inspired by Claudia’s comment on my last post I have decided to start a 101 in 1001 list. This is probably going to be a long work in progress and I most likely won’t finish half of it, but it’s healthy to have goals, even if you don’t always get around to them in a set time frame. So I’ll be adding a page for that soon!
  • Some Thoughts

  • Google+ recently launched for a lucky chosen few and I’m really itching to get in on that. I don’t post much on Facebook because I’m a bit of a private person and I’m really looking forward to the Circle feature, especially since it seems to be a really appealing user friendly interface. It’s about time Facebook gets a dose of healthy competition!
  • On Monday I went to see the Dermatologist and got two moles removed. One at his suggestion and one at my request. Ended up with 3 stitches after he removed the one at my request. I’ve never had stitches before and the concept has always sorta freaked me out. I get them taken out on July 11th and that day cannot get here fast enough! Also he had my moles sent to pathology so I guess I’ll be hearing soon if they were bad news moles or not.
  • Every time the movie Julie & Julia comes on one of the movie channels I find myself watching it and each time I get incredibly inspired to blog, write, and cook! This week I got The Unofficial Harry Potter Sweet Shoppe Kit by the same person who brought us The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook and I’m contemplating doing my own version of Julie and Julia except with the small Sweet Shoppe cook book. Sounds like fun right? I think so!
  • Other than my randomly playing World of Warcraft again, desire to do something (anything!) creative, and fighting off my sinus’ or the family cold (not sure which), that’s all for now! Hope you all are doing well!
